Transitioning to Fall in Florida

I hope everyone had a lovely weekend! Mine was great! Friday I had dinner with my family and Saturday I ventured to the Saturday Morning Market and picked up some beautiful sunflowers. The Market was great, but after only 30 minutes, the heat was too much to bear! As much as us Floridians love our sunny days, we are counting down to cooler weather. High 80s and low 90s in November is just painful.. when will it end?!

Although it feels like we are in the midst of summertime here in Florida, we still want to wear those brand new booties we just bought with a cozy sweater. Ugh. It’s just not going to happen. But, don’t worry, I’ve found a way to make this slow transition look more “fall appropriate”, (so at least you aren’t wearing your jean shorts with flip flops on the weekends!)

One of my favorite tricks to transition into fall in Florida is wearing a light weight maxi. The color hues are perfect for this autumn season- dark purples, burgundy, navy.. I love it all! I paired this maxi with a Forever 21 burgundy felt hat, and a small purse from Kate Spade.

This maxi is also really easy to transform from day to night. Simply swop your flats for heels or booties and you’re all set! There are two slits on the side of this dress that add some major flow, too!

The best part about this maxi from She In is the price. Under $20 for this Vintage Print Split Maxi Dress! I can rarely find a maxi that fits me at this price, and with decent material. I think this is a major steal, and I know I’ll be wearing this maxi all (Florida) “winter” long!
